Senate Acts on Surplus Land Bill
by John Andrews, MCHC
This is a critical week for the proposed constitutional amendment that would make comprehensive health care a permanent and guaranteed right for all Massachusetts residents. The Amendment needs to first be brought up for a vote and then to receive 50 YES votes at the Wednesday, May 10, Constitutional Convention in order for it to be placed on the November ballot. If legislators do not vote affirmatively on the amendment, then the amendment will not go to the voters.
The Health Care for Massachusetts Campaign is asking supporters to do the following:
· Call your State Senator and Senate President Travaglini on Monday or Tuesday at 617-722-2000 and leave this message: “Please vote YES on the Health Care Amendment on May 10th.”
· Attend the Rally to pass the Health Care Amendment, Tuesday, May 9, 12-1 pm, on the State House steps.
