Berkshire Conservation Collaborative presents: OUR OPEN SPACE AT RISK Surplus Land and Agricultural Preservation Restriction What New Rules Mean For the Berkshires Tuesday, September 13 4:00 – 6:30 pm (NOTE: time change due to room availability) Berkshire South Community Center, 15 Crissy Rd, Great Barrington There will be snacks (fruit, crackers & cheese, juice, & ?) Presented by the Berkshire Conservation Collaborative with the Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities. This is partly in response to the legislation to apparently sell off state owned land with little or no public oversight. The legislature may take up this legislation again after Labor Day. The idea is to look at existing and proposed laws and how they do and don’t provide for an open process that works in the best interests of all the people, with a major focus on how this applies to conservation. (also possibly public housing and transportation and how they affect conservation as well.) Any and All feedback on what you would like covered would be gratefully appreciated. For background information, take a look at the What is Community-Based Smart Growth flyer. We will gear this workshop to topics of conservation interest in the Berkshires.. To register for the workshop, please send an email to [email protected] with the following information: your name, email, phone, address, organization (if any) and the date of the workshop you will be attending. Thanks! September 13th Great Barrington workshop flyer |
