A Call For Immediate Action and Courageous Leadership for a Fair Budget Tell the Legislature and Governor that the budget is not finished – it needs fixing! WHERE: The GRAND STAIRCASE in the State House WHEN: Monday, June 30 (1:30pm) WHAT: Press Conference, Lobby, and Rally for FAIRNESS!

OUR MESSAGE:
***All branches of State Government must take Immediate Action!
***Massive budget cuts, unfair taxation, and regressive fee hikes hurt working class families and the poor.
***The state is not broke! 42 tax breaks were passed in the 1990’s resulting in approx. 3 billion in annual revenue losses and gains for the wealthy.
***We must find ways to raise revenues FAIRLY, to fund the vital public institutions and programs of this Commonwealth.

This event is planned, supported, and facilitated by members and volunteers from the following organizations: United Auto Workers Local 2322, American Friends Service Committee, Union of Minority Neighborhoods, Oiste, Teen Empowerment, Jobs with Justice, ARISE for Social Justice, United for Justice with Peace, The Haley House/Friends of the Haley House, The Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities, Mass Senior Action, Service Employees International Union, Food Not Bombs, The Women’s Fightback Network, Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry, Northampton Friends Meeting (Quaker), and Franklin Community Action.
