About us
The Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities (MCHC)
is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose purpose
is to defend the economic, social, and democratic foundations upon which
healthy communities are built. Towards this end, the Coalition provides
networking and coordination services to a diverse array of public interest
groups who are working for community protection and improvement. Important
elements of a healthy community are health care, social and economic justice,
good jobs, education, a clean environment and democratic process. We believe
that in America all just power is derived from the consent of the governed,
and that communities should be empowered to determine their own destinies
within a framework of justice, sustainability, and democracy.
